Esomchi Foods joined other stakeholders to participate at the International Year of Millet 2023 in Nigeria.
The United Nations General Assembly @unitednations designated 2023 as the International Year of Millets (IYM 2023) with the theme “Rich in Heritage, Full of Potential”, to raise awareness about the importance of millet as a sustainable food source and to encourage the use of millet in the fight against hunger, poverty, and climate change.
FAO Nigeria @fao as the lead UN Agency for the International Year of Millet in conjunction with the two Rome-Based agencies in Nigeria (IFAD and WFP) and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) hosted relevant stakeholders to a seminar and exhibition to share knowledge and best practices on millet cultivation, processing, and utilization on Tuesday, 11th July, 2023 at Reiz Continental Hotel, Abuja.
Esomchi Foods led by Mrs Maryann Okoli made a presentation on Enriching millet through food-to-food fortification. It was a great opportunity for the audience to learn about Esomchi Foods, her arrays of appealing, innovative and nutritious food products. Mrs Maryann Okoli spotlighted our millet based Pap/Akamu/Ogi and millet swallow as our efforts in promoting millet as a sustainable food vehicle towards a healthy and resilient food system.
